Redeyes U17s beat Dees
Blighty’s Under 17s scored their first win of the Picola & District League season when hosting Jerilderie for round three on Saturday.
In what was a good game to watch despite the weather, the Redeyes came out in full force.
Shelby-Lea Hislop did an amazing job in GK, dominating her player at all times.
Taylor Wilkinson and Bridie Blake worked well shooting together in the ring.
Blighty’s midcourt players created turnovers and ensured the play went smoothly.
The Redeyes players worked together beautifully in a much needed 17 goal win. Final score, Blighty 48 to Jerilderie 31. Awards: Holly Amor and Shelby-Lea Hislop.
Blighty’s Under 15s made it back to back win in an impressive display of team work in a wet and cold game.
The Redeyes trialled moving around positions and the players adjusted well, striving in the opportunity to show off their strengths.
Blighty ran out 13 goal victors in a low scoring affair.
Final score, Blighty 25 to Jerilderie 12.
The Under 13s played their best game of the season despite going down by six goals.
The Redeyes made a challenging conditions.
Samara Watson and Ruby Pisasale combined well in the goal circle, and Dakota McKenzie controlled the play through the midcourt.
Gemma Macdonald also continued her good form and was excellent in defence. Final score, Jerilderie 14 to Blighty 8. Awards: Samara Watson, Dakota McKenzie and Ruby Pisasale.
The Under 11s saw all of the youngest Redeyes playing extremely well in their first wet game.
Catie Michael did a fantastic defence and also shooting.
Milly Hanmer dominated in all positions on the court.
