Speed, weed seized
A 21 year-old Deniliquin man has been charged with two counts of drug possession and driving while suspended after a routine traffic stop in Deniliquin on Sunday.
Police stopped a car in Harfleur St, Deniliquin about midnight and checks revealed the male driver’s licence had been previously suspended.
After speaking to the man further, police said they conducted a search of both him and the car.
Police allege to have found a small amount of cannabis in the man’s pocket, and a small amount of amphetamines in his wallet.
Police said another small resealable bag of amphetamines, commonly known as speed, was found in the man’s car.
He was arrested and charged, and is expected to appear in Deniliquin Court on the charges.
A 39 year-old Deniliquin woman who was last week found inside a Deniliquin home has been remanded in custody pending another court appearance.
Police were called to a Charlotte St home in Deniliquin about 3pm last Wednesday when the owner arrived home to find a woman inside.
The owner restrained the woman until police arrived.
She was arrested and charged with entering a dwelling with intent to commit a serious indictable offence.
She was remanded in custody to appear in Griffith Court on Thursday, where she was bail refused until pending another hearing this week.
