Speed, weed seized
A 21 year-old Deniliquin man has been charged with two counts of drug possession and driving while suspended after a routine traffic stop in Deniliquin on Sunday.
Police stopped a car in Harfleur St, Deniliquin about midnight and checks revealed the male driver’s licence had been previously suspended.
After speaking to the man further, police said they conducted a search of both him and the car.
Police allege to have found a small amount of cannabis in the man’s pocket, and a small amount of amphetamines in his wallet.
Police said another small resealable bag of amphetamines, commonly known as speed, was found in the man’s car.
He was arrested and charged, and is expected to appear in Deniliquin Court on the charges.
Bail refused
