Deni Rovers netball results:
Deni Rovers’ netballers travelled to Berrigan for the final round of the Picola & District League home and away season on Saturday.
In what were beautiful conditions for netball, the Roos finished their year off with some strong performances.
Results from the day were as follows: Under 11s: The Under 11 Roos again showed an excellent display of netball in their last game for 2020.
They did what was asked from coach Lucy Horne once again, attacking the ball with everything they had.
When the ball was turned over they defended well and shot with accuracy. No scores were recorded.

Under 13s: The Deni Rovers managed to score a 10 goal win against a strong Berrigan side on Saturday.
Kate Jenkins was a strong competitor in defence, applying pressure to the Saints’ shooters.
Gabby Wade fought hard in the midcourt gaining many intercepts while at the other end of the court the Rovers shooters fought hard all game and were too strong for Berrigan’s defenders.
Final score, Deni Rovers 26 to Berrigan 16.

Under 15s: The Rovers U15s team expected a tough game against Berrigan and that’s exactly what they got.
The first quarter of netball was a fairly even 15 minutes played by both teams.
The second term saw the Rovers step up and regain their usual netball standard.
Strong defence led by Matilda Glowrey and Erika Martin created many turnovers for the Roos.
They were well supported by Elena Mulham and Shane´ Bothma, who brought the ball down the court to their attackers.
Lucy Pitt stepped up to play a great game at WA and was well supported by the reliable Abby Whitehorn in the midcourt.
Deni finished the third and fourth quarters strongly to bring home the 15 goal win.
Final score, Deni Rovers 27 to Berrigan 12.

Under 17s: It was a fast and physical encounter when the Under 17s Roos met Berrigan for the last round of the season.
The Saints started strong and continued their dominance for the entire game.
In the first few minutes, shooter Gracie Willis went down with a hard knock and had to leave the court. This resulted in many positional changes for the Roos.
Defenders Edwina Barclay and Charlotte Strong worked tirelessly throughout the game and provided many turnovers.
Emma East held her own against some tough opposition. She was able to hold strong and receive the ball from some accurate feeds from Georgia McCulloch and Sienna Jenkins.
Final score, Berrigan 58 to Deni Rovers 7. Rovers awards: Decentralised Demountables - Emma East; Deni Driver Training - Charlotte Strong.
