Finals fever hits Picola League juniors

-

Local footballers and netballers are primed and ready for tomorrow’s Picola & District League semi finals at Berrigan Sportsground.

The day will see all four teams - Deni Rovers, Blighty, Berrigan and Jerilderie - in action in all grades of junior footy and netball.

Blighty’s fourths will kick-off an action packed day on the footy field when they come up against Berrigan at 9am.

The last time these sides met, it was the Redeyes who won by 10 points, however due to an unregistered player playing for Blighty, they were stripped of their points.

In the other semi final the undefeated Rovers will be heavy favourites against Jerilderie at 10.30am.

The Roos have held the Demons goalless in both of their clashes in 2020, running away with 102 point and 87 point victories.

The thirds game between Deni and Jerilderie will immediately follow the fourths game at midday.

This promises to be an entertaining clash with the Roos edging out the Dees by 15 and 14 points respectively from their round two and round five games.

Closing out the day of footy will be flag favourites Berrigan hosting the winless Blighty at 2.15pm.

The netball courts will also see plenty of action, with six games in total for the day.

Under 13s (10am): Deni Rovers v Blighty; Berrigan v Jerilderie.

Under 15s (11.30am): Deni Jerilderie; Blighty v Berrigan.
