The Deni Ute Muster is going virtual in

Deni Play on the Plains Festival Inc was forced to pull the pin on the famed event in July — for the first time in its 22 year history — due to escalating concerns and restrictions relating to the Coronavirus pandemic.

To fill the void the team will bring some favourite Muster activities to everyone via its website on Saturday, October 3.

General manager Vicky Lowry said she could not let the weekend go by without doing something.

‘‘We had to do something for our regular patrons; there was no way we would just sit back and do nothing,’’ she said.

‘‘About 70 per cent of our patrons are from Victoria and with a majority of them still in lockdown, we wanted to try and bring them something to enjoy.

‘‘We have already had an overwhelming response of people who are going to get involved.’’

The virtual event will include a Show N Shine, Blue Singlet Count and Ute Count.

Those who register for any of the three events will be in the running to win prizes throughout the day, with giveaways being held every hour from 8am to 5pm.

‘‘Entry to these events are free,’’ Mrs Lowry said.

‘‘There will be 2021 tickets, merchandise and cash up for grabs.

‘‘We will be posting our Show N Shine winners as well as our Blue Singlet and Ute Count totals on the day.

‘‘Category winners for the Show N Shine will win $100 and the Ute of the Year winner will receive $250, as well as a double-pass to the 2021 Ute Muster.

‘‘We also have some surprises that will be revealed closer to the date.’’

Show N Shine categories include Most Flags, Best Street Ute, Best Chicks Ute, Best Themed Ute, Best 4 x 4 Ute, Best Tradie Ute, Best BNS Ute, Best Classic Ute, Best Hunting Ute, Best Camping Set Up, Ute Furthest Distance from Deni and Mini Muster Mobeel.
