Book launch dedicated to veteran golfers

The ‘Grandmas, Grandpas and Birdies’ book was launched in Deniliquin on Sunday, with all proceeds to benefit research into Motor Neurone Disease.

The book was written by poet Noel Hayes with cartoons by Deniliquin’s Alan Lord and former local resident John Jansen. It was published locally by Garry Baker.

It is dedicated to veteran golfers across Australia, and its launch took place at registration day for the Deniliquin Golf Club’s Veteran’s Week of Golf.

As well known veteran golfer and Jerilderie resident Ian Sneddon had passed away from MND last year, NSW Veteran Golfers Association president Ian Vidler nominated research into the disease as the preferred recipient of book sale funds.

‘Grandmas, Grandpas and Birdies’ is available at Deniliquin Golf Club.
