Man injured after ammo malfunction
A 57 year-old man was injured after reloaded ammunition malfunctioned last week.
Police said the man was testing the reloaded ammunition at an Evandale Rd property between Bunnaloo and Caldwell.
Fragments of metal were lodged in the man’s face, and he was also suspected to have a broken nose.
The man was taken to Deniliquin Hospital for scans, but was then transferred to Albury for further treatment.
Police said it is unlikely the man will have sustained lasting injuries as a result of the incident, describing his injuries as ‘‘minor’’.
The man’s gun was inspected by police, but has since been returned.
