Fined for no mask

A 30 year-old Deniliquin man has been fined for breaching COVID-19 regulations.

Police allege the man attended Deniliquin Police Station about 12.42pm on August 10, and was not wearing a face mask.

Police said the man had been warned about face mask compliance on previous occasions, and so was issued with an infringement notice.

Double breach

A 28 year-old man has been charged with breaching an apprehended violence order and breaching bail after allegedly being seen at the home of the protected person on Monday evening.

Police were called to a Deniliquin home about 9.40pm after reports of an argument between a man and a woman.

Police said they could hear voices, and allege to have spotted the man inside.

A woman, who police said is protected by the AVO, answered the door and told police the man had left.

In a search of the immediate area, he was found in bushland behind the home and arrested and charged.

Police said the AVO restricted the man from being within 50m of the woman’s home and workplace.
