Unresponsive on footpath
A 57 year-old Deniliquin man who was found unresponsive on a Sloane St footpath in central Deniliquin has been charged with possession of a prohibited drug and custody of a knife in public.
Police were alerted
1.20pm Wednesday.
Allegedly intoxicated, police said were eventually able to wake him.
As he refused treatment by paramedics, the man was detained as an intoxicated person.
During a subsequent search, police allege to have found a small amount of cannabis and a knife in the man’s possession.
The man was released when he was no longer deemed intoxicated.

Fined for no mask
A 30 year-old Deniliquin man has been fined for breaching COVID-19 regulations.
Police allege the man attended Deniliquin Police Station about 12.42pm on August 10, and was not wearing a face mask.
Police said the man had been warned about face mask compliance on previous occasions, and so was issued with an infringement notice.

A 28 year-old man has been charged with breaching an apprehended violence order and breaching bail after allegedly being seen at the home of the protected person on Monday evening.
Police were called to a Deniliquin home about 9.40pm after reports of an argument between a man and a woman.
Police said they could hear voices, and allege to have spotted the man inside.
A woman, who police said is protected by the AVO, answered the door and told police the man had left.
In a search of the immediate area, he was found in bushland behind the home and arrested and charged.
Police said the AVO restricted the man from being within 50m of the woman’s home and workplace.
