Echuca mare Full Ahead finally gets a win

- With JIM ZEALLEY

Full Ahead put aside her ‘‘non winner’’ tag to claim the Benchmark 58 Handicap (2050m) at Wodonga on Saturday.

The Echuca six year-old went into the race with just one win from 31 starts.

The mare was unplaced in four runs this preparation.

Full Ahead ($10) defeated She Zed So by a short head with Livvy Lass third.

She Zed So made a mid-race move to take the lead from City By Night but could not hold off Full Ahead in the final 100m.

Michael Cornish and Donna Gaskin train the winner which was ridden by Jason Maskiell.
