Murray still undecided

-

While Picola has pulled the pin on the 2021 football netball season, the Murray Football Netball League is yet to make a decision on whether to continue.

The league has one more round to complete before finals.

League general manager Dale Norman told the PASTORAL TIMES yesterday that a meeting between clubs will be held ‘‘in due course’’.

With the league’s teams spread across both NSW and Victoria, and with NSW lockdown extended for another two weeks at least, it is widely tipped Murray will follow Picola’s lead.

But Deni Rams Football Netball Club president Clint Free said while safety is always front of mind, he’s hopeful play can continue.

The Rams have played an impressive season this year, with almost all netball teams in the top eight, as well as the seniors, reserves and thirds footballers.

‘‘We were shaping up for a great finals round, so it’s a shame it could be stopped in its tracks.

‘‘But obviously we want to make sure everyone’s safe and will make decisions around whatever the state restrictions might be.’’
