Handcuffed after mask breach
A 48 year-old Deniliquin man has been charged with breaching the public health order and resisting police.
Police said the man was seen inside a local supermarket without a face mask about 7.10pm Saturday.
He allegedly told police he had an exemption, but refused to produce proof when asked.
Police claim the man also refused to tell police his name, or produce identification. As police could not determine his identity, he was placed under arrest.
Police allege that he began to resist as he was being led out of the shop, which lead to a short struggle before he could be handcuffed.
After his arrest, police established the man has no exemptions from wearing a mask.
