Books come to life

-

Mary Poppins was a popular choice among the teachers, while the students favoured the likes of King Arthur, Where’s Wally, vikings, princesses, pirates, vampires and witches.

The school day began with a parade during the normal morning assembly, where a judging panel of teachers selected two winners from each stage group.

The students then got their chance to vote for a best dressed teacher, with Jemma Keast’s representation of Lucy Pevensie from the Narnia Chronicles winning over the youngsters. A book fair was also held during the day, and teacher Carolyn Murphy offered a reading of Aliens Love Underpants during the lunch break.

She even came dressed as one of the picture book’s underpants loving characters.
