Assault charge

Police were called to an altercation in west Deniliquin about 5:40pm on Tuesday.

It is believed an argument about the care of animals escalated to a push and shove, during which the 38 year-old is alleged to have punched a 30 year-old woman to the left side of her face.

A witness tried to intervene, and reportedly saw the woman punch the 30 year-old again.
