Roof climber fined

A 20 year-old man who was spotted by police on the roof of an End St premises in Deniliquin has been fined for trespassin­g.

Police were conducting a patrol in Duncan St about 10.55pm Saturday when they initially saw a male at the rear of the End St building.

They then spotted a man on the roof. He came down when instructed by police, and was issued an infringeme­nt notice.

Safe missing

Police are investigat­ing after a small safe was reported missing from a Wood St, Deniliquin home.

The suspected break-in occurred between 7am and 9pm Tuesday.

Police said the occupant could not recall if the rear door of the home was locked or not.

Assault charge

A 38 year-old Deniliquin woman has been charged with assault after allegedly punching another woman twice.

Police were called to an altercatio­n in west Deniliquin about 5:40pm on Tuesday.

It is believed an argument about the care of animals escalated to a push and shove, during which the 38 year-old is alleged to have punched a 30 year-old woman to the left side of her face.

A witness tried to intervene, and reportedly saw the woman punch the 30 year-old again.
