Deni man charged with unlicensed and drink driving


A 23 year-old Deniliquin man has been charged with low-range drink driving and driving unlicenced after being stopped for a random breath test on September 16.

Police allege the man ran from the driver’s side of the car after it had been stopped in Junction St, Deniliquin about 7.30pm.

Police caught up to the man, who they allege became hostile and refused a roadside breath test.

He was arrested and taken to Deniliquin Police Station where police claim a blood alocol reading of 0.081 was recorded.

Based on further checks, police said the man had not held a licence in more than five years.

He has been charged pending an appearing at Deniliquin Court.

Disqualifi­ed driver

A 26 year-old Deniliquin man has been ordered to appear in court on charges of driving while disqualifi­ed.

Police allege he was the driver of a car stopped in west Deniliquin about 9.30am on September 18, and was unable to produce a licence when asked.

Checks revealed his licence had been disqualifi­ed by court order.
