Dust off the golf clubs for charity event

-

If you’ve been looking for an excuse to dust off the golf clubs and get back on the course, this is it.

Deniliquin CanAssist will host its annual Charity Golf Day at the Deniliquin Golf Club on Sunday, October 3.

The four person ambrose event will raise money for the organisation, which uses donated funds to support locals undergoing cancer treatment.

‘‘Having had our fundraising abilities significantly reduced by the COVID-19 pandemic, we are very excited to finally host an event, and are thankful to the golf club in helping us to navigate this,’’ Deniliquin CanAssist member Bianca Armytage said.

‘‘Cancer hasn't stopped because of COVID.

‘‘Last financial year saw us distribute $61,000 in financial assistance to 36 locals during their cancer journey.

‘‘If you are able to sponsor, provide prizes or volunteer on the day please contact Colleen Henderson on 0417 801 076.’’

The cost to play in the charity golf day is $35 per person.

Golfers are asked to be at the club at 11.30am for a midday shotgun start.

A barbecue will be provided for golfers, thanks to the Deniliquin Rotary Club.

A drink cart will also be operating, and there will be prizes on the day.

To register, please contact the Deniliquin Golf Club Pro Shop on 5881 3333.
