Muster replacement

-

This weekend will be quieter than anticipated in Deniliquin, as another year passes by without a traditional Ute Muster.

We won’t hear the roar of utes or the dulcet tones of Australia’s top musical stars wafting over the plains, and there will not be more than 20,000 Ute Muster fans making their way to Deni for a funfilled weekend.

But that does not mean the famed event will not be celebrated this weekend.

The Deni Ute Muster team has organised a few fun activities over the weekend, to give fans their Muster fix.

‘‘We have put together some fun for what would have been the 23rd Deni Ute Muster weekend — from competitions to Muster trivia and so much more,’’ the team said.

‘‘Keep an eye out on our socials over the next few days.

‘‘A big thank you to the Edward River Council and Visit Deni for donating an awesome prize pack.’’

A muster trivia quiz has been active on the Ute Muster’s website, with winners to be announced today.

A merchandise sale — 25 per cent off — also starts today and runs through until Sunday.

On Saturday, judges will reveal the winner of the loudest ute competition, determined based on videos sent to the team.

A video revealing what happens behind the scenes of the massive event, and the people who make it work, will also be shown on the event’s Facebook page on Saturday.
