Twenty five players took advantage of the fine weather on Sunday.

There were three, three game winners with Andy Davis declared first on a countback and Peter Whittakers and Mary James declared second and third.

In a closely fought day of play, there were six two game achievers with high hoop scores. They were John James on a 20 hoop score, Helen Moye and Gwen Pearn on a 19 hoop score and Dora Peterson, Judy Smith and Brian Dudley with 18 hoops.

There were six jump shots on the day — Darren McLoughlin with 2, and Leo Barry, Trevor David, Peter Whittakers and Edwina Circuitt with one each.

Leo Barry was the loan hoop in one shot achiever.

On Wednesday, 16 players divided into four teams contesting Round 2 of the in-club pennant competitio­n.

The D team captained by Mary James and including Brad Fawns, Leo Barry and Bobby Murphy defeated the B Team, captained by Andy Davis and including Brian Dudley, Terry Murphy and Faye Druitt with a result of 8 sets to 4 (71 hoops).

The C Team captained by Peter Whittakers including Ray Moye, Judy Barry and Graham Bradford defeated the A team captained by Helen Moye and including

Tony Bull, Allan Higgins and Trevor David with a result of 8 sets to 4 (57 hoops).

Peter Whittakers was the loan four game winner on the day.

The third round of the Challen Cup is scheduled for play this Sunday. Singles players are asked to meet at 10am for a 10.30am. Bring your lunch.
