Forest fire

-

Spontaneous combustion is believed to be the cause of a small fire in the Murray Valley National Park near Mathoura on Wednesday evening.

Firefighters were called to what was initially reported as a bush fire just before 5pm, on Campbells Rd.

The rain is said to have played a part in the combustion of sawdust on the forest floor.

The National Parks and Wildlife Service had the fire under control within two hours.
