Don’t forget about nominating people for Murray River Council’s Australia Day 2022 Awards.

Nominations will be accepted until November 5, but you know how quickly time flies when you’re busy.

While COVID has restricted many of our popular events during the year, our community committed residents are still finding ways to help out and do things for others.

You can nominate people for Australia Day Citizen, Young Citizen, Sportsperson, Young Sportsperson, Community Event, Community Group, Arts and Culture (person or group).

Nominations can be lodged on council’s ‘have your say’ platform at:

www.yoursay.murrayriver.nsw.gov.au.

Do you have a child due to start school next year? Mathoura Public School is currently taking enrolments for 2022 and would like to hear from you.

Interested parents can contact the school with any enrolment inquiries by phoning 5884 3314, or email the school on mathoura-p.school@det.nsw.edu.au.

The school community looks forward to welcoming all prospective students into the school later in the term when it conducts its orientation program.

Mathoura Preschool children will soon get a chance to experience ‘Big School’ for themselves.

Mathoura Public School will throw open its doors and welcome youngsters for orientation sessions from later this month.

The program will commence on Friday, October 29 with a total of six sessions involved in the program.

I’m sure the youngsters will receive a warm welcome and have a great time in their new surroundings.

COVID Freedom Day arrived on Monday, but not everyone was happy about it.

Mathoura Football Netball Club has been forced to postpone its planned presentation events.

It now proposes to hold the events in December, when a greater number of its members will be able to attend and celebrate with respective winners.
