Store sale on today

-

Stock agents are expecting a strong Deniliquin Store Sheep Sale today, spurred on by recent rains and the market.

There will be 17,000 head offered for sale, on site and interfaced with AuctionsPlus.

Elders Rural Services Deniliquin and Nutrien Livestock will offer up 32 lots, starting from 11am.

Elders livestock agent Jason Andrews said the majority of sheep are from the immediate local area, with some coming from other parts of the district.

‘‘We don’t think the rain will have too much of an impact on what we expect to see,’’ Mr Andrews said.

‘‘With the rain and the market we expect it to be a good sale, probably on par with other local sales.’’

The last Deniliquin Store Sale was held in January, at which all 17,809 sheep offered were sold, resulting in an impressive $4,087,611 result.

It was an increase from a total $3.16 million at the January 2020 store sale.

Helping the January 2021 price along was an average sale price of $229.53 a head.

Mr Andrews said the store sale will be open to the public, but COVID-19 rules apply.
