Smaller field, but still a big week for vets
Veteran golfers from various locations in regional New South Wales and northern Victoria converged on Deniliquin last week for the local Veteran’s Week of Golf.
Events were played on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday, with a presentation dinner on Thursday night.
Deniliquin Golf Club captain John Radeski thanked everyone who travelled to Deniliquin for the week, as well as the local golfers who participated.
While numbers were down on previous years due to COVID-19 travel restrictions, there were good field numbers for all events.
Radeski also thanked major sponsors the Purtill Group and The Depot, as well as the NSW Veteran Golfer’s Association for its support, the club’s greenkeeper and staff for ensuring the course was in excellent condition, and clubhouse staff for ensuring all visitors received a warm welcome.
The week started with a fourball best ball event on Monday (results were published in Friday’s edition).
