NAPONDA HOSPITAL AUXILIARY

-

Naponda has a special place in the hearts of all involved with healthcare in Deniliquin. Formed many years ago as a QRQ SUR¿W RUJDQLVDWLRQ WR VXSSRUW Deniliquin Hospital, it has had many memorable fundraisers over the years.

In recent years, Naponda has operated its own store. It is operated by a group of makers, bakers, and creators, and carries an eclectic range of home and hand produced products. As well as supporting our local makers by displaying and selling their work, Naponda donates

DQ\ SUR¿W PDGH WR 'HQLOLTXLQ Hospital.

This wonderful store is run entirely by volunteers, and stocks something for everyone – beautiful food and preserves, woodwork, cards, artwork, and home made clothing and knitwear. It is the perfect example of keeping our community engaged, busy, happy and healthy!

Naponda also run a monthly Farmer’s market, under the verandah outside their store at 226 Cressy St. This is the place to be on the 2nd Sat of the month for local vegetables, plants, preserves, yummy cakes and biscuits, as well as a BBQ for the hungry shopper.

The next market is Saturday 9th April 2022.

Naponda does several fundraisers every year and the latest fundraiser was a Garden weekend with Sophie Thomson (from Gardening Australia) at Marong Station and the Community garden . This was a fantastic weekend for all involved.

towards supporting patient care at our hospital. Many pieces of valuable and specialty equipment have been funded by Naponda over a long period of time. Over the past two years Naponda has donated about $135,000 dollars to Deniliquin Health Services and this enabled the purchases of items which have been much used and appreciated by patients and family including:

• Birthing Bed in maternity

• 2 Baby Cribs

• Bariatric Suite ( chair etc)

• 4 fold out beds for family stays

• Over $50,000 donation to the training and simulation lab

Naponda is always looking for additional volunteers. If you can help out please pop in to the store and have a chat to the friendly team! Peruse the high quality locally made products while you are there.
