Murray Irrigation funds offered
Community groups across the region are invited to submit applications for Murray Irrigation’s annual Sponsorship Program.
This program supports a broad range of community projects and activities each year which ameliorate, promote, and embed safety and wellbeing within the community.
Applications can be for financial support of up to $5000 or for in kind support of water, equipment usage, or administrative support.
Funding is for activities to be undertaken in the 2022/23 financial year. Applications open this Friday, and close on May 18. Last year eight projects across the Murray Irrigation footprint were funded, and these included school tree planting, art, tennis court upgrades, Menshed facilities, education, rescue squad equipment and irrigated cropping research. ‘‘We take pride in supporting healthy, viable and vibrant local communities by assisting projects and initiatives across our area of operations that align with our company values,’’ Murray Irrigation chair Steve Fawns said.
The sponsorship is in addition to the financial support provided by Murray Irrigation to the Learn to Swim program across the region, which this year involves 18 schools and three swimming clubs. Learn to Swim has been supported by Murray Irrigation for nearly 20 years.
▯ Clubs and organisations who want to submit an application to the Murray Irrigation Sponsorship Program can download an application form and guidelines from the Sponsorship page on the Murray Irrigation website — https://www.murrayirrigation.com.au/ company/our-community/ giving-back.
