Still plenty of action for bowlers

With all pennant seasons now completed, attention at the Deniliquin Bowling Club is now turned towards a number of intra-club competitions.

It starts with the Open Club Fours this Sunday from 10am. and it promises to be a day of quality bowls.

Bryan Kemnitz will lead his side against that of Jamie Shields, Rob Morris takes on the Simon Chisholm combination, Graham Nisbet and Shane Laing's teams are pitted against each other, and Linda Harris' charges are taking on Steve O'Brien's outfit.

The line-up for the final of the club pairs has now been decided, with David Hessel and John Flisher earning their place with a comfortable victory over Simon Chisholm and Graham Nisbet.

They will face off against Lloyd Ritchie and Steven King who advanced by disposing of Rob Morris and Kevin Keane in their semi-final.

The combatants in the B grade pairs final will also have been decided by now as Tom Todd and Mick Atley took on Col Knuckey and Lee Pattinson last evening, with the winners to clash with Keith Hay and Glenn Thomson in the final.

A big day is also planned for the club on Sunday, April 24 with the staging of the inaugural Ray Anderson Memorial Trophy starting at 10am. It will be a two-bowl singles event over 15 ends.
