Tough day out for Redeyes at Katunga

A grade - Blighty 21 lost to Katunga 42.

It was a fantastic effort by all players contributi­ng in a fast and physical game.

The strong defence of Natalie Tremble, Charlotte Strong and Felicity Jefferies put lots of pressure on a skilful attack.

Attackers Tess Plattfuss, Bridie Blake and Lillie Harford fought hard with great drive effort and movement.

Excellent team effort with only more growth to come.

B grade - Blighty 30 lost to Katunga 63. Another new team this week, and all ladies played well taking the court for the first time together.

The settled game play worked well, with some strong mid court game.

Awards: Jess Hanmer and Eliza Bradford.

C grade - Blighty 8 lost to Katunga 55. Ladies your pre-season efforts are paying off. Improved fitness has reflected in your game and confidence on the court, with smiles on your dials when walking off the court you are all winners in my eyes.

Under 17s - Blighty 16 lost to Katunga 53. Katunga is a talented group of girls who made our job very hard this week.

Erica Nicholl's work through the court was tireless and she created lots of opportunit­ies for us into the goal circle.

We may not have won today, but the girls effort and plays that we have been working on are coming into effect.

So very proud.

It was a great game from the girls against a quality opposition.

Chelsea Weir was a standout in defence turning over many balls.

Both Dakota Mackenzie and Eliza Weir provided quality attack all game, setting up play nicely.

Under 13s - Blighty 4 lost to Katunga 19.

It was a really tough game but all the girls came together and used the skills from training.

So incredibly proud of all of the girls. The score definitely did not reflect the game. Awards: Cassady Sibraa, Indie Moses and Hollie Armytage.

Under 11s - Not scored

A great second game. The girls improved so much from last week with coming forward and spacing.
