Grower of Year nominations open

Rice Extension has launched its C22 Rice Industry Awards, with nominations now open for the C22 SunRice Grower of the Year Award.

Nominating is easy. Simply visit the Rice Extension website and complete the downloadable pdf form. The nomination form asks for details on the farm business, focusing on:

• Production and Agronomy.

• Innovation and Technology.

• Business Management.

• WH&S.

• Sustainability.

• Industry and/or Community Involvement. Growers can self-nominate or be nominated by fellow growers, agronomists or industry stakeholders.

Successful finalists will progress to on-farm judging, which involves a farm tour and interview.

The winner will receive an impressive package to support further their business, including $2,500 for personal or business development.

This year there has been one slight change to the requirements of the SunRice Grower of the Year to encourage more nominations and further showcase the industry's achievements.

The C22 SunRice Grower of the Year winner will not be obliged to host a field day.

Nominations close 5pm, Friday, May 6.
