Two-goal difference in A-grade

- See Friday’s paper for junior results.

A-grade: Deni Rovers 43 def by Mathoura 45

Both Deni Rovers and Mathoura were looking for their first win and the game did not disappoint.

From the first whistle it had all the makings of being close as the two teams went goal for goal.

The Rovers girls settled into their own game.

Strong direct passes navigated down the court and into the shooters, who were on song, saw them lead at the first break.

The second quarter had Mathoura hit back and level the scores heading into the half-time break. The second half was just as intense as the two young sides displayed great athleticism and skill. In the final minutes of the last quarter a finals atmosphere surrounded the court as scores were level and the ball was being intercepted and turned over by both teams. Mathoura was able to inch ahead and win the game by two goals.
