Foot ulcers

A trial by a team from the Manchester Metropolitan University in the UK found participants with diabetes who used Orpyx Medical Technologies Inc’s smart sensor insole reduced the incidence of foot ulcers by more than 70 per cent. The system, which is linked to a smartwatch, alerts users when pressure on the sole becomes too high, forcing them to change behaviours. This could help reduce unnecessary damage, leading to amputation.
