Digital Camera World

Welcome to your new issue of Digital Camera

Britain’s best-selling photography magazine

- Chris George, group editor in chief chris.george@futurenet.com

OK, we put our hands up and admit it: we have made a bit of a mistake. In the last two months, lots of you have written in or phoned to say that they miss the wallet-sized tips cards that we used to give away with the magazine. You’ve liked our three-part History of Photography that we have offered instead, and we have tried to innovate with our giant poster of studio lighting set-ups (free with this issue), but it’s obvious that the majority of you just want more Digital Camera tips cards. So that’s what we are going to give you!

Our new series of cards starts next month – and we are going to kick off this new pack of miniature technique guides by giving you eight all-new cards with the next issue. This month, for those who have missed some of the previous cards we have a PDF of all 48 of our previous tips cards as a download. You can print these off yourself, or put the PDFs on your phone or tablet so you can carry the complete back catalogue around with you wherever you go. See page 6.

Talking of cards, we have had a bit of a shuffle in the Digital Camera team, which means that this will be the last of the issues that I produce as editor. I’m still going to be very involved with the production and planning of Digital

Camera, but in my new role as group editor-in-chief, you will see less of my face beaming out from these pages. However, it gives me great pleasure to announce that regular contributor and former deputy editor Ben Brain will be taking over the helm and the day-to-day running of this great magazine. I hope you will join with me in wishing him well in his much-deserved new role.
