Steve Hill [ViewFinder, Digital Camera 154] may very well have read my mind when he enquired about an index of items covered in the previous issues of Digital Camera. I for one would very much welcome a reference tool, such as an Excel file that could be updated annually on the December disc. The digital format would allow readers looking for information to search this database efficiently and filter the information as they see fit.

I just wanted to add my vote to Steve Hill’s for an index (even a basic version) to be placed in the December issue. Actually, it just occurred to me that even a link to an online index that we could refer to and print would probably be just as good (or even better, as it could potentially be kept updated through the year – staff time permitting, of course) as a hard copy in the December issue.

Currently, I keep the bag that the magazine comes in folded in half on top of each month’s issue to refer to, but an actual index would be the best way, I think. Keep up the great work!

Thanks to everyone who responded to our invitation last issue to show their interest in a Digital Camera index. As we mentioned then, it’s not a trivial task, and we need consider the best way of providing the information (not everyone has Excel, for example) – but we’re certainly looking at how we can make it happen.
