The challenges

Capturing a deep depth of field is the hardest challenge for Carl because aperture alone isn’t enough, and the living, breathing subjects can’t stay perfectly still for long. So after taking several shots, Carl assembles the component body parts in Photoshop until the compositional elements come together. The final layering is crucial to make them work as landscapes.
