Lee Seven5 Deluxe Kit
Your favourite lens filters, downsized for compact system cameras
ompact system cameras often don’t need larger filter systems, so Lee Filters has produced its Seven5 range with CSCs specifically in mind. The Deluxe Kit isn’t cheap, but it includes almost everything you need to get started, including a holder, three 75-x-90mm ND grads, a Big Stopper (to extend exposures by 10 stops) and a circular polariser, plus protective pouches. The only other thing you need a screw-in lens adapter (£19 / $24). The filter holder is a high-quality piece of kit made from metal and has two slots for holding slip-in filters, as well as a front attachment for the polariser.
Unlike many kits, this one includes 0.6 soft and 0.6 and 0.9 hard graduated neutral-density filters, for balancing exposures when shooting landscapes.
CTriggertrap Mobile is basically a cable that connects your camera to your smartphone to turn it into a remote release. However, the clever app (for iOS or Android) allows you to trip the shutter with a tap or a sound, or by shaking the phone, as well offering bulb and timer controls. There’s also easy-to-use time-lapse and HDR image control.
For a small device, Triggertrap Mobile packs in the features and is a great tool for capturing festive fun in different way. This carbon tripod offers an impressive maximum working load of 15kg – more than enough to hold a Canon EOS 1DX with a 200mm lens, for example. Extended to a maximum height of 177cm, the legs provide a firm placement, with each section held by a twist lock. As part of the NX series, one leg of the tripod can be removed and used as a monopod, making this a versatile and well-priced tripod choice.
