Top tips for freezing florals
1
Take care to place the container flat in the freezer, to ensure your frozen layer has an even thickness.
2
Get your camera, tripod and lighting set up before taking the flower block out of the freezer – the ice will melt quite quickly in a warm room.
3
Experiment with your flower choices – consider colour and shape, leaves and stems and different stages of flowers’ development.
4
Why not add some cracks in the ice block? Pour warm water over the reverse side for a few seconds and watch the cracks appear.
5
To get ultra-clear ice, use distilled water or bottled water. This limits the impurities and air bubbles that are often found in hard tap water, which can make ice cloudy.
