To try this type of photography, it’s important to either do it on property that you own or to obtain written permission from the property owner. It needs to be dark to attempt this type of photography outside, so the fire does tend to attract attention – which means you may need to be ready to reassure passers-by and neighbours, or even to show the police your written permission!
