Set up a non-destructive burn layer

-

With the two raw conversions blended together, the image is taking shape – but to really take control of the contrast, it’s best to apply it exactly where you want it. To do this, click on the top layer, then press Ctrl/Cmd+Alt+Shift+N to create a new, blank layer at the top of the stack. Now go to Edit > Fill and choose the 50% Gray option before clicking OK. The image will be obscured, but in the Layers panel, click where it says Normal and change the Blending mode to Overlay. The image will show through the grey. Doubleclick on the Layer’s name and rename it to ‘Burn’.
