“We went exploring in Mongolia in the dead of winter of 2017. A highlight of our tour was the Camel Festival in Bulgan, Omnogovi. This photo was taken on the day of the camel race. We were sort of loitering around after the race area when I chanced upon this camel polo rider on his own. I asked him for a portrait, and he happily obliged. I went for a low-ish angle with the widest 24mm setting of my zoom for a dramatic effect.”
