Sony is set to launch the world’s lightest 400mm f/2.8 prime lens in September

Weighing in at 2,897g, Sony’s built-to-order FE 400mm f/2.8 GM OSS lens features a reduced number of elements at the front of the barrel to reduce the ‘nose-heavy’ feel that lenses in this class inevitably have. Part of Sony’s flagship G Master series, the new professional telephoto lens features three fluorite elements to minimise chromatic aberration, Nano AR coating to suppress ghosting and glare, and an 11-bladed circular aperture for smooth bokeh. www.sony.com; £10,500/$12,000
