Most of wed­ding pho­tog­ra­pher Do­minic Le­moine’s favourite shots are cap­tured like this one – on the fly, with­out much plan­ning. T his shot of the bride’s daugh­ter was taken dur­ing the wed­ding prep. “She was re­luc­tant to let some­one else than her mum to do her hair,” says Do­minic. “When the hair­dresser put the hair­spray on, she im­me­di­ately pulled that face and I was ready to cap­ture it.

“I’d just cap­tured a photo of the bride, so my flash was al­ready po­si­tioned be­hind the sub­ject. What made the photo work is the mir­ror the girl was hold­ing: it re­flected some of the light onto her face, giv­ing me enough light for the fi­nal edit.”
