Once you know what the his­togram is telling you, you can ad­just the ex­po­sure to get the look you want. For in­stance, some sub­jects look mood­ier when they’re un­der­ex­posed, while oth­ers take on a light and airy feel when the ex­po­sures are on the bright side. If you shoot raw, you can ex­per­i­ment when you process a file.
