Category 5 Black & White

Captivating! I would have this on my wall at home, printed really big. I simply love the detail contained within the frame and the random nature of the crystals; but a delightful composition seen in black and white keeps the eye moving around the frame in such a way that I just wanted to look at it for ages.

This is a brilliantly executed image. The lines, shapes and textures are wonderful, and having the figures there gives scale and direction. I also love the separation between the figures and the fact their shadows aren’t crossed by anything else, which lends a simplicity that would have been missing if any of those elements had touched.

3rd Anuruddha Das

A strong graphic image that is perfectly finished by the use of black and white. The detail in the shadows is fantastic: I can feel the felt of the hat just by looking at the textures captured. The shadow under the hat is intriguing and left me wondering: what do her eyes say or hide? I love that every tone is in this frame, from a bright white above the lips to the black of the jacket.
