Digital Camera World - - STEP BY STEP -

With a camera and a good lens, you have everything you need to shoot a portrait – but getting a high-end studio look requires a studio, right? Not necessarily. Provided you have a good shot of your subject, it’s quite feasible to cut them out and drop them into any background in Photoshop. This lets you create a studio environment in the digital space – and if your cutout is good, you can place them anywhere!

Making a good cutout that accurately extracts the subject is the first hurdle to overcome; that’s addressed in this tutorial. The second barrier is having a selection of studio backgrounds to slip into place, and we’ve covered that, too. On this month’s disc or download, you’ll find over a hundred specially created files that will transform your portraits into studio-style shots.
