Those who want the best-quality action camera typically go for the latest GoPro model. There’s only one problem with that: a high price tag. This much more affordable action camera from Yi Technology gives you almost as much bang, but for far fewer bucks.

For example, it’s got a slightly larger touchscreen than the GoPro Hero6 Black, and matches its rival in recording 4K footage at 60fps. The results are detailed, smooth and colourful, and the user interface is both super-fast and super-simple. The camera body isn’t waterproof, limiting you to recording action on dry land only, and you’ll have to do without GPS functionality. But if you’re primarily after great video quality that doesn’t break the bank, the Yi 4K+ is a fantastic action camera.
