MAKE A CYANOTYPE USING UV LIGHT
Set up your UV light
An alternative way to process the cyanotype is by using UV light, which gives you finer control of the lighting. Depending on the wattage of the bulb, you can then determine how long your image will need to process; I sourced a 9W bulb for £9 on Amazon, then attached it to an old table lamp. Looking at the results later, this UV light process worked best with the digital negatives.
Now use the UV light
When you’re using a digital negative, put the sticky side of the negative on top of the glass, then add the paper between the glass and the back of the frame. Put the frame in a dark room and point the UV light at the frame. I exposed it to the UV light for 17-20 mins, which created an image with plenty of contrast.
