PRO TECHNIQUE TRIPOD TIPS
Tripods are often seen as cumbersome necessities, but you can speed up your tripod use. First, place your camera handheld in the position you want it. Make a mental note of this, then extend the tripod – without the camera attached – to this position. Use the thickest leg sections first and keep the centre column down to increase stability. Now you can attach your camera and frame up.
You’ll have the most stable platform possible, and should only need to fine-tune the position by moving the head rather than faffing about with the leg locks. Quick and easy!
