Useful kit

A tripod is a must for landscapes, giving you the freedom to use really long exposures, or to stand back and consider the composition and framing more carefully. But what else should be on your kit hit-list? Apart from the items listed to the right, we’d recommend some way of triggering your camera remotely (whether that’s through an app on your phone or a cable release); a polarising filter for reducing reflections; a strong ND filter for making arty long exposures; and plenty of microfibre cleaning cloths for cleaning your lenses and soaking up moisture.

Good footwear Waterproof boots will enable you to go further for a shot.

Quick-release L-plate Makes it easy to switch the orientation of the camera.
