USE MOTION BLUR IN SHOTS

A blur of movement can add extra ‘life’ to an image, giving a sense of speed and action. Experiment with your settings to find a visual balance between a positive blur of action and something that just looks like a mess. In this shot, captured in Triunfo de la Cruz in Honduras, I used a shutter speed of 1/20 sec to show the speed at which the boy’s hands were moving when striking the drum.
