WIDE-ANGLE LENSES
Your lens choice for any subject is key to achieving the desired result. The shots above were taken with a Sony 16-35mm f/2.8 lens. The image on the left was taken at 16mm, while the image on the right was taken at 35mm from the same position. The wider focal length results in a much more dramatic image than moving back and shooting at 35mm could ever produce. To achieve a similar composition at 35mm, you’d have to move back quite a bit, so while the shot would be less distorted, it would also be less dramatic.
