ND FILTERS

Neutral-density filters reduce the light entering the lens without affecting colours. They come in different strengths, and can be used to ‘force’ a longer shutter speed than conditions would normally allow. With a three-stop ND over the lens, an exposure time of 1/8 sec is extended to one second – enough to blur a stream.
