STEP BY STEP CREATE CRUMPLED CHARACTERS
Take a portrait of each family member, then squish them up!
1 Take a full-face portrait
First, get a photograph of each family member in the household; make sure you get a close-up of their face to fit the full frame. You want to play with expressions, so ask them to pull as many faces as possible. The more exaggerated the expressions, the better! Make sure you shoot in good natural light, as you will be taking pictures of the prints later on. If your household is small, you can get family and friends to send good-quality images to you.
2 Now produce paper prints
With the faces shot, you want to print them off in full colour. It is wise to stick to A4 size or above: if you go any smaller, your paper ball will be too small, and hard to mould the way you wish. Plain paper will work great, as it is thin and moulds easily, but you could try thicker options for slightly different results – such as glossy or matt photo paper, or even card.
