Paint Layer Masks

A project like this relies on Layer Masks to confine different elements to parts of the face. Masks simply let you hide parts of a layer, just like erasing – but nothing is ever lost, only hidden behind the mask. Here, you can use them to confine gory details to the eyes, skin and teeth. Masks are simple to use, but there are some key things to remember. After adding a mask, make sure the mask thumbnail is highlighted in the Layers Panel, then paint with black using the Brush Tool to hide parts of the layer, or white to reveal them again. You can Alt‑click the thumbnail for a handy mask view.
